Two days ago, I drove the new NC 140 freeway west of Wilmington, which is in neither the CHM nor the Travel Mapping HBs.
It apparently will become part of I-140 once a connecting segment is built, but for now it is signed only as NC 140 with no I-140 or Future I-140 signage (at least southbound, or on US 17 southbound or US 74/76 westbound at their NC 140 interchanges). OSM/Mapnik shows the route, as does Google Maps (marked in error as part of I-140).
NC 140 has only two interchanges, exit 1 (US 17) and exit 5 (US 74/76). US 17's interchange with NC 140 is signed as exit 39. I don't recall any exit number for NC 140 on US 74/76.
In addition, NC 87's northern junction with US 17 was moved southwest, perhaps to make room for the NC 140/US 17 interchange, so both the US 17 and NC 87 route files should be adjusted accordingly. |
