Was just out on the Parkway West today and noticed a brand newly posted Truck route for US-30.
I didn't get to travel it, but it starts/ends @ the I-376/US-20/US-30 interchange (Exit #60) and goes along I-376 towards the airport.
I'm going to assume it goes to PA Turnpike 576 and takes that back to US-30, but can't be sure as I got off @ Exit #59 today.
I do have a picture or two of the shields between Exit #60 & #59 going in both directions.
This new route is so new that it doesn't even show up on the July/August 2012 StreetView images. |

| I can't find any info about the routing from the penndot site and maps, so I'll have to wait until the routing is confidently known before adding the route. |

I had business in western PA this weekend, so I checked it out from as many angles as I could. There are a few other truck routes posted, too. They all (except the PA 65 route around Bellevue) seemed to be on account of bridge weight restrictions. Two are in Allegheny County; three are in Lawrence County.
US 30 Truck: This route follows I-376 up to Clinton Road. It is technically signed on US 22/30 between the US 30/PA 978 exit and I-376, as well. There were signs on US 30 EB approaching US 22 that pointed to the WB Truck route and US 30 EB. I believe they signed it this way for trucks attempting to access US 30 WB from US 22 EB and PA 978 NB. US 19 Truck (Harlansburg): This route uses PA 956, Eastbrook Road, PA 388, and PA 108. It has its southern terminus in Harlansburg at the intersection of US 19 and PA 108. See here: http://tinyurl.com/US19TrkHar

PA 51 Alternate: I happened to notice that there was a strange mix of fixed/mounted and temporary signage for an Alternate 51 in Pittsburgh. I think the temporary signage was because these signs were in the construction zones along PA 65. This would explain why I also saw a EB Truck US-30 shield with an arrow pointing people to get off @ Exit #60A going EB on I-376.
Also afarina, you know you can just use Google Maps built-in link shortener instead of using tinyurl as a go-in-between.  |

I can attest that not all the routes listed have truck detours posted (yet, at least). PA 318, for example, did not have one posted when I traveled the western half of it through West Middlesex this past weekend but weight restriction signs were posted. I think they will likely only post truck routes for highways that have a lot of through-traffic trucks or where connections to towns are otherwise cut off for high-profile vehicles. I cannot imagine a route like PA 318 needing it since there is neither heavy industry along it nor a lot of through-going traffic. Trucks to West Middlesex can simply take PA 18 and into town from both ends if they need to cross the bridge there.

I see the listing and agree that the bridge over Slippery Rock Creek was it, but the routing as I listed was signed. I recall seeing weight restrictions on the north side of the hamlet, but now that I think about it, I cannot imagine where unless there was a culvert or something that I have forgotten. Perhaps they were advisorial signs for the bridge south of town.

I'm not afarina, but I have found that, since about the time the preview version of Google Maps launched that I have been unable to use the Google Maps built-in shortener, even when using the "old" version of GMaps. It still has the interface, but when I click the checkbox, the shortened link never appears. |

Have you tried Firefox? I just did 5 seconds ago and it worked with no problems. |

It didn't work for me (Firefox being my usual browser), until I went to a private window. I don't know if it's an issue with me being logged in or what. But at least I have now found the workaround: Private Window. |

Something tells me then that your Firefox profile is borked then and needs to be reset. You might want to take a look at this page:

Hi Afarina,
This is posted because of the rebuilding of the PA51 viaduct between the West End Bridge and McKees Rocks. The northbound lanes are completely closed with the detour using NB PA65 to the McKees Rocks bridge. SB PA51 is still open, but they are using the route you highlight as an alternative to get around the construction.
