With US 89 closed due to the landslide and a projected timeline of years to reconstruct the highway, Arizona has designated that N-20 is to be paved and signed as US 89T. According to http://www.azfamily.com/news/Arizona-approves-Navajo-road-as-closure-bypass-199467671.html it will take four months for this project. When the mainline US 89 is rebuilt, US 89T will be turned back over to the Navajo Nation.

ADOT has begun work to pave Navajo 20 (N-20) to serve as US 89T (http://www.azdot.gov/CCPartnerships/News/NRel3490.asp).

This article
http://adotblog.blogspot.com/2013/06/from-navajo-route-20-to-us-89t.html
suggests that paving may be complete on US 89T in mid-August.

I've drafted the route but haven't added it to CHM yet. I want to see a picture showing how the route is signed to confirm it's US 89T or TEMPORARY US 89.

Should that matter? Sounds similar to all the US1As in New England included as US1Alts.

I did not take the route, but I drove by the northern terminus of it on AZ 98 last month - here are 3 pics of it I got.

And US41A and US31A labels in TN which you wanted me to change to US41Alt and US31Alt, even though they're posted without the "Alternate" banners.

Yes, it matters. If they sign it as US 89 ALTERNATE or something else, then my draft of US 89 TEMP would need an update in the route name. But masterson's post confirms they chose TEMP for the signs -- that's the confirmation I was waiting for.
