Per the comments in this article, I-69 has been posted on the Pennyrile Parkway already. Has anybody been in that area or know anybody from there than can get photographic proof of this happening?
More info here as well. |

I spoke to my KYTC counterpart in Western Kentucky today, who assured me that no I-69 signs are posted anywhere in the field in Kentucky. The only evidence of I-69 are "Future I-69 Corridor" signs which were put up a few years ago and are similar to the Future I-66 Corridor signs in Kentucky and the Future I-74 Corridor signs in North Carolina.
However, he told me that KYTC is going to work with FHWA to see if something can be done to speed up the posting of I-69 on the parkways and/or lessen the standards to which the routes will need to be brought up to in order to be signed an interstate. These routes exceed some of the standards of routes currently signed as interstates and the differences between the parkways and an interstate is virtually undetectable to the non-trained eye. An average motorist really can't tell the difference in the type of highway if he or she exits I-24 and gets on the Purchase Parkway. |

Do you know how they are going to deal with the exit numbers? Are they going to renumber all of the Parkways I-69 will eventually travel or are they going to keep the current exit number scheme? Same with I-66 in the future. |
