I understand that the part of former CA30 (from I-215 in San Bernardino to I-10 in Redlands) and the new CA 210 freeway (from CA57, where I-210 ends, to I-215 in San Bernardino) is eventually supposed to be added to I-210, and was only numbered CA-210 to reflect this fact...any truth to this? _________________ tikester |

I heard the same a few years ago, but if it was supposed to happen, it should have soon after the freeway was completed.
So it's either I-210 or CA 210 but not FI-210 here.
I wouldn't mind an informed update on the subject though to make sure that's right. |

This was still CA-210 last time I was in the area (January 2010). _________________ the shortest distance between two points is no fun |

Yes, me too, I drove the length of it (again) in March. _________________ tikester |

So far as I know, it's still CA 210. I'll research this when I get to the route while drafting California's highways. It's a ways off (hint hint, FHWA and CalTrans...). |

One of us needs to surreptitiously drop a link to this thread in CalTrans' inbox. |

I don't remember the source, but my understanding is that CALTRANS won't request Interstate designation for 210's eastern portion (including the new sections built in the past decade) until the intersection with I-215 is upgraded.
A similar issue is holding up the conversion of CA-15 to I-15 in San Diego.
