In Indiana's quest to seemingly eliminate every route from any decent sized city, they have decided to reroute US52. Heading EB, US52 now stays cosigned with US231 all the way to IN25, where it then turns east down the old IN25 routing (Old 25, Old 231, & Teal Rd) to meet back up with Sagamore Pkwy and continue southeast.
This is not quite HB related, just roadgeek venting...for those keeping track, in the Lafayette area:
* US52's been rerouted out.
* IN25 and IN26 have been broken apart so they end at US231/52 and restart at I-65. Unsure if IN43 has been truncated to I-65, but seems logical.
* I'm uncertain of the short routes (IN126, IN526, IN443, and throw in IN225, too), but wouldn't doubt they'd all be decommissioned. When I clinched the new US231 routing, I didn't see a IN526 sign, but didn't explore it further, either.
* IN38 still ends at Sagamore Pkwy, weirdly, so it now ends at a non-route.
Oh, Indiana. I don't get you.
