For Michigan, US 12 Business Niles was decommissioned last year.
For North Carolina, the US 311 relocation was done with the new I 74 changes.
According to the AASHTO request, the southern section of the US 17 bypass of New Bern is supposed to be done by July 2011. This is way sooner than anything that I have seen. I will make the changes when I hear of it being opened. _________________ Dave Filpus

The South Carolina US-21 one is interesting, that for sure. Otherwise, the other ones for the states I control should be easy enough to deal with, except for one.
Would have to cooridnate with froggie (VA) on the US-421 one since it involves VA/TN. |

No coordination really necessary since it's crossing the state line along already-existing route points: those on US 11E.
The US 29/31 relocation near Flomaton opened in 2009 and is already accounted for.
The US 80 relocation east of Montgomery puts it onto I-85 between Exit 6 and Exit 16. Existing US 80 east of AL 110 (Exit 11) apparently will be resigned as AL 126, which is interesting since this route number already exists on the north side of I-85 between the two exits. _________________ Froggie

True. But what I ment is submitting both of our parts at the same time. |

Preferred, but not outright necessary. _________________ Froggie

The DE US 301 relocation app is an interesting one.
Paraphrased, "we know that AASHTO doesn't want a TOLL US 301 without a toll-free alternative, but we are proposing that anyway.
"We think this is fine because everyone else does it.
"We will keep truck traffic from using a toll-free alternative by posting signs that it's illegal for them to use any alternatives they might try."
"We are worried that you won't agree, so we've expanded our application into two applications totaling 64 pages and submitting them 4 years early so you have time to read them."
========
The IN applications were nice in that they reminded me of projects I'm not sure I knew about. I've added them to our Outlook spreadsheet/web page. |
