I just e-mailed TNDOT the other day about the signing of the approved segment of I-69 and I got an e-mail response back today.

The person I talked to said the following:
Quote:
I spoke with the Region 4 Traffic Engineering Office and they plan to have the signs up by the end of the month.

So, I-69 signs should be appearing on I-55/I-240/I-40 up to TN-300 from the MS/TN State Line by the end of the month.

Ok, signs should be going up now, but I haven't heard anything new yet. So, if anybody is traveling in that area, please, if any signs or BGS's are up, get pictures. I'd appreciate it.

I saw none at all on I-55 or I-240 when I was there 12 days ago.

Anybody been in this area recently to see if the I-69 signs have gone up yet?

Alright, we got ourselves a new interstate. I just did an e-mail chat with Steve Chipman in TDOT. He happens to be the Project Manager on I-69 segments SIU 8 and SIU 9. He has told me that they now have I-69 posted as a full Interstate from I-55/I-69 @ the Mississippi boarder up to I-40 along I-55/I-240. Above I-240 along I-40, it is posted as a Future Interstate.

Tim, I will send you the tweaked files in this area in a few minutes so they can be posted on the site with a few others I have already done in other states. Wink

Hey Tim. Looks like I screwed up the TN I-69 file a tad. I forgot to add the "(240)" text after the 31 and 32 labels. Can you update the online copy with that tweak?

Tim, I've seen some new recent pictures and it seems that TN just posted it as a Future Interstate....... Even with the FHWA approval to post it as a true Interstate......

So, what do you think I should do here? Should I just tweak the I-69 Future Memphis file and extend it down to the state line till TDOT gets off their behinds and officially extends it? Or leave both files as is?

So I-69 never entered TN, only FI-69 did? The TDOT guy was wrong?

BTW, you can just bump a thread that died too early.

I went to Memphis last weekend. The I-69 signage stops at the TN line; TDOT has no I-69 signage. I don't recall seeing any Future I-69 signage along I-55. I didn't travel onto the north-south leg of I-240.

It looks like TN I-69 should be merged into the FI-69 route for now.
