This forum is to complement the Clinched Highways Mapping Project found at
http://cmap.m-plex.com/
You can use this forum to point out changes in the highway systems involved or errors in our highway data.
Project description:
Many web sites allow you to keep track of all kinds of experiences, from birds you have seen to counties you have visited and even paper money you have handled. Now you can track your highway travels, too.
The project site allows users to map which portions of North American highways they have traveled, or "clinched," and calculates how many miles of the Interstate Highway System they have travelled. As you travel more of the highways
To have a map created of your travels, simply make a list of Interstate highway segments that you have driven or ridden on. Visit the project site to see how to make your list.
Once your clinched highway site is created, it will appear online.
For example, here is mine:

Secondary Purpose: Tracking Highway Designation Changes
As we try to include whole systems of highways and keep up with their changes, this forum also serves as a place to notify us about such changes and discuss them. Changes could be many things: new highways, relocations of highways, renumbering, decommissioning of a highway designation, new interchanges, etc.
Currently we track these highway systems in North America:
- US Interstate Highways (Primary and Business)
- US Highways (Primary and Auxiliary)
- Canadian Provincial Freeways
- Ontario 400-series
- Quebec Autoroutes
- Nova Scotia 100-series
- Trans-Canada Highways
- Future Interstate Highways
and Europe:
- Northern Ireland Motorways
- Ireland Motorways
We are also working on adding the state highway systems of the United States (+ PR), the provincial highway systems of Canada, the federal and autopista highway systems of Mexico, and the motorway systems of European countries. |
