After travelling through Paintsville, I noticed that KY321Bus route is only signed from KY321 (near the KY2333 intersection) to KY40, and is not cosigned in the field with KY40 to meet back up with its parent. KYTC documents back up this routing (although to be fair, KYTC wouldn't show cosigned routes, either). I guess the question is, is this an assumed loop as shown in the HB, or do you go with field signage and take it for a business spur route rather than a business loop?

I was just looking this over. I would think we should 'NOT' be implying a loop here as long as signage doesn't say there is a loop. Because in some other states, we do have 'Spur' Business routes in the state systems. Anybody else have some opinions on this?

On another note, I see we're missing a signed KY route in that area. KY-2333 is posted (StreetView) along KY-321 @ 8th Street just south of the current 'KY321Bus' point in KY-321's file and should be added at least.
Also, it seems (if StreetView is to be believed) we have the wrong starting point for KY321BusPai. Looks like it should really start @ KY-2333 (8th Street) instead as there is no mention of the route along KY-321 indicating that it's even there.
Now, I haven't looked at any current KYTC pdf maps. Just going from what StreetView shows from July '14. |

If that's what the signage (KYTC docs being uncertain) says, then I'd agree. Don't imply the loop. There are even a few 'Spur' USAUSB routes.
Haven't looked at the maps/GMSV, myself, just the discussion. |

KYTC's photolog only shows the route between KY321_S and KY40_E. Signs appear in the images between KY2333 and KY40_E. KY2333 is announced on KY321 before the junction, but not KY321Bus.
If I was drafting the route, I would keep the current southern end and truncate it to KY40_E. |
