http://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=15652.msg2068074#msg2068074 discusses the new interchange.

Unlike my other recent updates, this is my problem (to take care of later, once I'm back home), rather than someone else's.

I had to click through to read this, since I live in San José and wasn't aware of any new exit here. Relived to see that you were just being super-liberal with your definition of the city.

I took a shot at implementing this set of changes (removal of the ColeRd point in the CA US101 route file, relocating the CRG11 point for San Juan Rd. from its old location to the new interchange). However, there's no open-source map like OSM/Mapnik showing the new interchange, which is definitely at a different location.

Any way to get the new interchange into OSM/Mapnik? Or some other open-source coordinates for the new interchange? I sometimes use a handheld GPS receiver for such situations to grab my own coordinates, too bad I'm three time zones away.

I'm currently revamping US 101 and other US routes in CA, to among other things rename waypoints at interchanges to their new exit numbers.

In my draft US 101 file (which should go online in Travel Mapping later this week), I put in a waypoint for the new San Juan Rd. interchange (exit 342) at its approximate location. Once I get open-source coordinates for the interchange, I'll go back and tweak new waypoint 342 accordingly.

I also spotted, and added to the file, nearby new exit 339 for Crazy Horse Canyon Rd.

There's enough NAIP imagery for point placement.

http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgis.apfo.usda.gov%2Farcgis%2Frest%2Fservices%2FNAIP%2FCalifornia_2014_1m%2FImageServer&source=sd

1. Open the imagery in one window.
2. Open Google or Bing satellite viewer in the WPT editor in another window.
3. Alt+Tab around between the windows and line the imagery up just so.
4. Position the mouse pointer over the center of the interchange in the NAIP window.
5. Alt+Tab back to WPTedit one last time, holding the mouse still.
6. Double-click to recenter map.
7 Add waypoint!

Hey, y'know what? I suppose I could do that myself instead of making you do it...
(In the time it took to write that... yeesh...)

New exits 339 and 342, along with a lot of other revamps to US 101 route file (mainly renaming waypoints with exit numbers), in the travel Mapping database.
