Brian Powell is reporting on Twitter that WVDOH apparently moved US 52 onto the new King Coal Hwy stretch in Mingo County (between WV 65 and WV 44) back in August.

I'd love to update that, but I need more proof, like at least one picture proving this.

After travelling WV65 last weekend, one gets some mixed messages. In Taylorville, signage shows WV65 and US52 splitting just as shown in the HB. However, at WV65's junction with King Coal Hwy, US52 signage starts there, but shows no cosigning with WV65, as if US52 ended there. Signage still seems a little unclear.

I'll wait on updating till signage is more consistent.

Google Maps is now showing US-52 on the King Coal here and the old road as a CR. It's also showing a multiplex with WV-44.

Still, I'd rather wait for signage proof before I submit any update for this, especially to see if US-52 & WV-44 are really signed together now.

Well, the Mingo County map shows US-52 on the new alignment now.

So, all I need to know now is if WV-44 is still on the connector road with US-52, or does it once again end where it did before the connector road was opened.

Since it's still being reported that WV is posting US-52 on both the 'new' route and the 'old' route with no signage along either WV-44/WV-65, I'll be leaving US-52 on the 'old' route for now. However, an update is being finally submitted to get WV-44 extended down to just past the King Coal Highway.

A new thread at the new forums has been created to continue on this discussion in the future.
