Andy: US 71 departs State Line Ave. at Hazel St., a point we both got wrong. I got it wrong first, so maybe you were just lining up your TX US 71 route to match my AR US 71_S.

Check out either of these AR DOT maps to convince yourself:
PDF: http://arkansashighways.com/maps/counties/county%20PDFs/MillerCounty.pdf#
TIFF: http://arkansashighways.com/maps/counties/46texa.tif#
You can also see signs matching the routing it in Google Maps Street View.

So your TX US 71 file can end here:
AR/TX http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=33.429919,-94.043135&spn=0.001207,0.00309&z=19

Those maps also show a US 71Y on the state line between Hazel St. and US 82. Let's just skip it. There's no signed spur, just signs suggesting US 82 EB traffic to use it to get to US 71.

Looks like it's a fight between the AR stuff and the TX stuff. Both the county grid map and the designation file indicate that US-71 goes all the way down the state line to US-82.

http://www.dot.state.tx.us/project_information/countymapbook2006/Pages/586.pdf
http://www.dot.state.tx.us/tpp/hwy/us/us0071.htm

These are the things that I checked against which is why I didn't bring up a problem. Note that the designation file indicates that TX will eventually build a new alignment for US-71 that connects up to the westside loop and come around the southside.

I'll go with whatever decision you make on this.

Google maps street view shows US 71 signs along each route. If you follow US 71 in either direction, the signs do take you down Hazel Street. So let's go with this change.

OK, I'll get my part in in the next few days. Looks like the continued section is a business route (a wider smudge on the banners than on those of the other routes). The business route is not listed in the TX designation files so my inclination is not to put it in for TX.

I didn't see anything about a business route anywhere. Link?

OK.

Changes are done for TX and AR.
