Probable motorway openings in Romania:
A1: Arad - Timisoara + Arad bypass - December 2011
A2: Medgidia - Constanta (A2/A4 interchange) - maybe half-profile in August?
A3: Bucharest (ring-road) - Ploiesti: December 2011
A4: A2/A4 interchange - Agigea: half profile in July-August 2011

2 half profile motorway sections will be opened tomorrow in Romania:
A2 from DN3 (between Murfatlar and Ciocārlia de Sus) to A4
A4 from A2 to DN38 (near Lazu)
Green section on this map:
Both motorways are still u/c and will be opened full profile + on other sections sometime later.

PS: I see that you are adding E-roads in Romania. When will they become "clinchable"? |

thanks bogdymol - I saw that on SSC earlier and made the files, which are now sent.
Romanian E roads have to undergo a peer review before they become active. Are there any obvious mistakes I've made (and I know that the E87 goes via Bralia - that should be sorted soon)? |

Thanks for the dates on the A4. |

It's almost sure that on December 15th 32 km of new motorway will be opened on A1 Arad - Timisoara (northern point: DN69 just south of Arad; southern point: DJ691 just north of Giarmata).
It is yet unclear if there will be an exit on DJ693 (between Ortisoara and Seceani).
Arad bypass it's yet unclear if it will be opened this year or at the beginning of next year. I will post new updates when I will know more info. |

A1 Arad - Timisoara (32 km - full profile)
&
A1 Arad bypass (12 km - half profile)
were opened to traffic this morning so you can add them to the clinched highway system.
map: http://g.co/maps/v537z
There are just 3 interchanges opened today (near Giarmata-Timisoara, on DN69 south of Arad and on DN7 west of Arad), but the other 3 (Ortisoara/Seceani, Arad-Zadareni and Arad-Airport) will open by next spring. (you can drive on the motorway in this points, but you can't enter or exit here) |

Bogdan Moldovan writes in the FreewayJim facebook group:
The newest motorway in Romania has opened full-profile this week: A1 - Arad bypass. Here is the video I've recorded on it:

Don't know if this is something that needs any action or not. |

No, we have the Arad bypass already active.
The A3 near Bucharest, A4 Constanta and a bit more A2 open this month, don't they? |

This week on Thursday (Dec. 19) there will be some new motorway openings in Romania. They are the following:
A1 motorway, between Orastie and Sibiu, lot 1, 2 and 4. You can check them on google maps:
lot 1 & 2: http://goo.gl/maps/IMj8z
lot 4: http://goo.gl/maps/p0wSz
A1 motorway, between Lugoj and Deva, lot 1: http://goo.gl/maps/SYYNJ
A6 motorway, between A1 and Lugoj bypass: http://goo.gl/maps/pRGZj
All this new motorways will be opened on December 19th.
PS: on google maps the road routing is still done on the old parallel road, but you get the ideea of the new motorway sections. |
