Found a PDF of agreement between KDOT and city of Lawrence.
Quote: | The effective date for the City’s total responsibility for the Route will be a date and time certain, which is yet to be determined by the Secretary, but will be no sooner than July 31, 2014. |
Still a stupid move. |

I drove through Lawrence KS earlier today. The relocation of US 40 in Lawrence still has not been carried out. US 40 signage remains on the old route, and is absent from the new route. So we might've jumped the gun on making that change in the Highway Browser.
OTOH, the other Kansas change approved by AASHTO (decommission of US 40 Business in Russell) appears to have been implemented, with its signage removed from the old route westbound and from exit signs on I-70 westbound. That route is no longer in the HB, so we're fine on that. |

US40 has been reverted in the TravelMapping HB.
Associated labeling changes to US59 and KS10 are there as well. |
