The new "Future I-376" makes it blatantly obvious that it should be I-876 (or, if they don't care for an 8, I-479 might be acceptable).

As another aside, Safari doesn't like whatever directory the "Future"/"Business"/"Alternate"/etc. banner images are in. Maybe my ad-blocker is a little TOO tough.

I haven't had I-555 going all the way to I-55. Or if I did, it was a mistake I quickly caught and fixed. I can't remember for sure. But I have found out that new interchanges were built between the south end at Exit 18 and I-55. Not all the interchanges that Interstate status requires, but a few of them. So I wonder if the Future I-555 designation will be extended soon, or if it's pointless for another intermediate stage before the Interstate is completed.

I-376 should probably be I-<even>76. Now that PA 576 (Future Future I-576) will connect I-376 in Pittsburgh with I-376 (instead of PA 60) west of Pittsbugh, it too should be Future Future I-<even>76. But there's only one I-<even>76 left.

Are you still having problems with certain images in Safari? They display fine for me in Safari, but it's a browser I rarely use.

Actually, I had meant it in the sense of "Shouldn't it go to I-55?" AFAIK, there's some issue with requiring an access road before 555 can be signed as such, not necessarily a new-alignment issue. But I guess you're only marking what are interstate-quality NOW.

On that note, what about the obviously-going-to-be-fixed-sometime I-26 gap in western NC? Could that get a Future file?

Yes (v3.1.2). It doesn't seem to want to load any images in the /ban/ folder, even with the ad blocker disabled. I tried going to the gif as a direct address; it recognized the image size but no image came. Pages work fine in Firefox, though, and it's not the main shields so it's a minor issue.

I found the AASHTO entry for I-555 and it approved Future I-555 between I-55 and US 49. I should probably extend it. I think I made it shorter because I wasn't 100% sure if US 63's routing would be upgraded everywhere with no new bypasses. Is that definitely the case?

The first thing I'd try if images aren't showing up is to clear the cache and try it again. Probably you tried that and still have the problem. I'm not sure why it would happen.

I am wondering if I was just looking in the wrong places or if aerial imagery was recently updated on Yahoo. It looks like AR has built almost all the new interchanges since I put together the US 63 file over a year ago.

FI-555's routing is quite clear on Yahoo's imagery. A few interchanges were built next to US 63 and appear to be open even imagery shows an u/c phase. So I have extended I-555 south to I-55. James might be thrilled to see some asterisks in the updated US 63 (not yet uploaded at time of post).

AR 77 seems to have a bizarre routing near the I-55 & FI-555 interchange.

I am still looking for the exit number for the AR135 interchange. Probably Exit 6 or 7.

I think I found the problem with the Safari images. Did you have problems with the ON and QC shield images, too? Did the banner images appear on some pages but not on others?

All the ON/QC images seem OK. I haven't seen banners on any state page I've checked.

Google shows the whole FI-555 route as a freeway now. Anyone know if its status will change to I-555 anytime soon?

As I understand it, there's still a few lingering issues near Marked Tree. As for your question, that'll probably be up to AASHTO and FHWA.

This article explains that the remaining delay is due to this:

http://www.kait8.com/Global/story.asp?s=6249236

Quote:
At least 20 farmers in Poinsett County farm on both sides of the Future I-555 and are forced to use the roadway daily because it is the only way in the area across the St. Francis Floodway. The road department isn't ready make the highway an interstate until those farmers have a new route.

"This farm equipment runs 22 to 23 miles per hour and we do not want to be on a highway with someone going 70," said Poinsett County farmer Bud Bingham.

Bud Bingham travels along Future I-555 daily transporting crops, fertilizer and farm equipment to and from land that he farms on either side of the roadway. He feels farmers need a way to get across the St. Francis Floodway, Ritter Arnold the president of East Arkansas Good Roads says the federal government agrees.

"The highway department has told us they won't certify this project as an interstate until we get an access road built across the floodway," said Arnold.

By law farm equipment, gravel trucks and garbage trucks aren't allowed on interstates. That means farmers would have to find an alternate route.

Looks like the only concern for this thread is FI-555 becoming full fledged I-555. Any news about that, I'm likely to hear thru AARoads.
Any other issues -> Github, AARoads, or a new topic here.
I'll allow another week or so for comments, then lock this thread for housekeeping purposes.
