According to the new 2010 ISTHA Map, I-90 (Jane Addams/Northwest Tollway) and I-94 (Tri State Tollway) are in the process of having exit tabs added to the system and are revising the mile markers to be inline with the interstate system.
Here are the new exit numbers when they are finished.
I-94 (Jan 2010):
#1A Russell Rd
#1B US 41 South
#3 Ill 173 - Rosecrans Rd
#9 Ill 132 - Grand Ave
#10 Ill 21 - Milwaukee Ave
#11 Ill 120 - Belvidere Rd
#14 Ill 137 - Buckley Rd
#16 Ill 176 - Rockland Rd
#19 Ill 60 - Town Line Rd
#22 Ill 22 - Half Day Rd
#24 Deerfield Rd
#25 Lake Cook Rd
#26 I-294 South/I-94 East split
#28 Ill 43 - Waukegan Rd
#29 US 41 North/Edens Expy merge

The remainder of the Tri-State as I-294 will keep the original mile markers starting at I-94/I-80/Ill 394 junction.

I-90 (late 2010):
#1 US 51 North/Ill 75
#3 Rockton Rd
Tollway begins at MM 3
#9 Ill 173
#12 E Riverside Blvd
#15 Business US 20 - State St
#18 I-39 South/US 51 South/to US 20 (Cherry Valley exit)
#21 Irene Rd (New EXIT for WB off only)
#25 Belvidere-Genoa Rd
#43 US 20 (Marengo exit)
#47 Ill 47
#53 Randall Rd
#55A-B Ill 31
#56 Ill 25
#58 Beverly Rd
#60 Ill 59
#62 Barrington Rd
#66 Roselle Rd
#68A-B I-290/Ill 53
#71 Arlington Hts Rd
#74 Elmhurst Rd
#76 Ill 72 - Lee St
#78 Devon Ave (WB Entrance ramp only)
#78A I-190 O'Hare/I-294 South
#78B I-294 North
#79 I-90 East Kennedy Expy merge

I will let you know when i actually see them posted on each route.

Also, as mentioned above, there is a new Westbound off ramp at Irene Rd in Belvidere that according to the map is open now. This is at 42.23297,-88.90077 according to GPS Visualizer.

That WB Irene Rd ramp was there for over a year - it served as a detour to I-39/US 20/US 51 while the Cherry Valley Interchange was under construction (WB to SB ramp closed)

Well if that is the case, why was it listed as a future exit on the 2010 System Map? If you go to the Toll Authority building and get an actual system map, Irene Rd is mention 3 times as an exit.On the map portion itself, in the listing of the exits on the system for I-90, and in the section called "What's New on this Map".

Also this was taken from www.illinoistollway.com

Quote:
The final piece of the reconstruction and reconfiguration of the Cherry Valley Interchange is complete as the new westbound I-90 ramp to southbound I-39 is now open. Traffic no longer needs to use the Irene Road exit ramp detour to access southbound I-39 and U.S. 20. However, the ramp will remain open providing drivers access to Irene Road from westbound I-90; there is no entrance ramp at this location.

I think this is enough evidence to suggest that Irene Rd is going to be more than temporary.

Are all the new exit numbers available on the web? I found a 2007 map but nothing newer.

The exit numbers are not yet posted on the tollway's website, but they are on the 2010 hard copy system map. I went up to Waukegan the other day and the new milemarkers were installed on I 94 part of the Tri-State but not the tabs yet.

It is official. There is an exit for Irene Rd in Belvidere off I-90. Just went to Wisconsin this weekend and saw it.

This link brings up a login screen.

OK, do I add the I-94 and I-90 numbers to those files now? I-94 only? Per Tim's rules the names will have to stay, at least those that are in use.

This was taken from the tollway's website.

The ramp from westbound I-90 to southbound I-39 will close overnight on Sunday, March 1, and a posted detour route will be put in place for drivers who want to reach southbound I-39. The detour will direct traffic from westbound I-90 to a new exit ramp at Irene Road to reach westbound U.S. 20, which will allow drivers to travel the 3.5 miles to reach the I-39 Interchange (see map below). The detour will remain in place through the 2009 construction season.

The detour is over with BUT the Irene Rd ramp was never removed. If you want the exit listings on the hard copy 2010 map, here is where you go:

http://www.illinoistollway.com/portal/page?_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&_pageid=133,1495438#system_map

Make sure you get the 2010 because 2009 does not have it. Also, on the exit listings it does show the new exit numbers for the Tri-State and Jane Addams Northwest Tollways.

So, are we going to get these updated (at least on I-88) soon?

As of Monday, I-294 had no exit numbers on it. There were also no exit numbers on the I-90 signs at the O'Hare interchange.

I don't know if I-88 has had tabs added or not.

I don't know what they delay is by the ISTHA because the Exit Tabs have not gone any farther east than Orchard Rd on I-88, 94/294 still don't have them at all, and the toll section of 90 doesn't either. The milemarker changes have been installed system wide but not the tabs.

Time to update I-355's file at least. Exit numbers are now posted and there is picture proof in the following thread @ AARoads:

ISTHA Finally adding exit numbers to I-355

So, here's the changes as follows:
I-80 > no change
US6 > 1
IL7 > 4
143rdSt > 7
IL171 > 7A
127thSt > 8
I-55 > 12
BouRd > 13
75thSt > 15
63rdSt > 17
MapAve > 18
US34 > 19
I-88_W > 20A
I-88_E > 20B
IL56 > 22
IL38 > 24
IL64 > 27
ArmyTr > 29
US20 > 31 (StreetView)
I-290 > no change

I have not added any numbers to the toll roads because up until this point there had still been no outside confirmation of actual exit numbering.

Google Street View didn't show any numbers on multiple toll roads as recently as last summer.

Now, if it's only gore signs and not with tabs I guess that counts...?

I'm just guessing (in I-355's case) that the tabs on the signs will come later. But since all the numbers are now up on the gore signs, I think it's safe to convert to #'s for I-355's file at least. Wink
