If you look @ the satellite images, you can clearly see gates on each ramp blocking traffic from using it. My guess is that used to be the old access point to go to US-222 since another exit is so close to it.
EDIT:

Search for "Exit 286/Reading-Lancaster" and it tells you all about this "old" interchange. So Tim, if you really want to add it, you could always add it as a "closed" interchange. |

It was just the old US 222 interchange back before the expressway was built. I'd say just skip that point.
For some reason, the warehouse that is there constructed their access road utilizing the bridge piers of the old interchange. I imagine to keep trucks off local roads and give them a shorter path between the docks and the Turnpike and 222. _________________ Jeff Kitsko

Reminds me of this:
http://maps.google.com/?ll=43.520571,-70.460365&spn=0.005306,0.009656&t=h
IIRC, it's signed "Saco Hotel & Convention Center -- not an exit" or somesuch. It's used for, uhh... special occasions.
TMK, one can drive up the ramps to the carpark, but there are barricades blocking the ME112 access road, and the (smaller!) carpark accessible from the ME112 side.
It used to be accessible from the SB side as well, but the old bridge was demolished when the turnpike was widened.
I don't recommend adding a point here, mind you; just posting for fun. :D |
