Looks like we have a bit of waiting left on I-376.

Route 60 to become I-376 this year, PennDOT says

Well, whenever it happens, I'll try to take a trip along it and get all the new exit numbers for it. Smile

You know, what I don't get is @ the I-79/279-US-22/30 interchange. They installed new signs for the missing ramps going SB on I-79, right? Well, I don't think PennDOT was thinking ahead when they did them. They have no space at all for a future I-376 shield if they want to keep the US-22/30 shields on it. There's a waste of taxpayers money right there.... Especially if they post I-376 this year.

From Jeff's pennlive link:
Quote:
PennDOT will start work this year to renumber exits along I-376 between the Fort Pitt Bridge and Monroeville to match with mileposts along the new alignment, he said.

Exit 1 at I-80 (later), Exit ~68 at the Point, Exit ~82 at I-76 to the east?

That would make sense since it would fit with how mile markers and exits are numbered for an east-west interstate. Also, it would mark the fourth exit numbering sequence to be signed on the Parkway East.

22/30/60 Cloverleaf Project to Begin Monday

The Post-Gazette article on the project explains more in detail the extent of the changes that will take place.

I-376 is now officially designated from I-79 to Monroeville, as announced by District 11-0 today:

Nice. At least PennDOT is going to leave the I-279 signs up for now.

So Tim, I'll do a drive of all the changes once most have been made since I live here in Pgh. (I'll be keeping an eye on the PennDOT cameras for updates)

Also, as long as PennDOT keeps the I-279 signs up along the Parkway West, I say we also keep I-279 along there for the time being. Once they think everybody knows about the number change fully and pull them down, then we can decommission I-279 along that stretch.

Yeah, I'll leave I-279 intact in this project until PennDOT removes those signs.

I'd like to extend I-376 only after I know the new exit numbers.

E-mailing PennDOT right now Tim. Will let you know when I get a response. Wink

Thanks. Ask for all ~80 miles worth of them if you can.

In one of the numerous e-mails I received yesterday, someone mentioned the milemarkers and exit numbers between the airport and Chippewa have been changed. I might take a ride out there to field check and see if they are different.
