As my wife and I were driving on US460 in Norfolk on the weekend, I noticed a discrepancy between the Highway Browser's points and the signage.

The Highway Browser follows Google Maps indication that US460 leaves Church St and travels on Monticello Ave.

The signage indicated that US460 continues on Church St.

We only traveled on Church St as far as US58 with no indication that US460 had left Church St. Yahoo indicates that US460 continues on Church St past US58 before turning east onto Brambleton Ave.

I've seen those signs as well...they were put up sometime between July 2005 and April 2006. And yes, they do suggest that US 460 follows Church St (locally known as Martin Luther King Blvd).

However, all other indications, including VDOT's own maps, the VDOT traffic log, and GIS shapefiles, indicate that US 460 still follows Monticello Ave and St. Pauls Blvd between Granby St and Brambleton Ave.

I have an E-mail out to both VDOT and the city asking for clarification. Unless/until I hear a reply, I'm going to leave the list file as-is.

Thanks for the quick, detailed response.

I'm newer to the area than that.

Just to add to the mystery... At least on their web site, VDOT's maps are inconsistent, http://www.virginiadot.org/VDOT/Travel/Norfolk_Map.html seems to show Church St, while http://www.virginiadot.org/VDOT/Travel/Norfolk_-_Downtown_Map.html seems to show Monticello/St. Paul's.

Good luck on getting confirmation from VDOT/the city, and thanks again!

On that Norfolk map (not the Downtown inset...the other one), what's labeled as "Monticello Ave" is, in reality, Llewellyn Ave.

Ah, that makes sense. I thought it looked like it split off from Granby/Church too far north for Monticello!
