Two items from the Land o' Lincoln:
The routing of IL8 in the field is different than that of the HB. Heading EB, once IL8 approaches Main St, it turns right to go south down Western Ave, then east, cosigned with IL116, before intersecting its old routing of MacArthur Hwy, right before the bridge.
Also, I think IL161's western endpoint is at St. Clair Ave, not IL157. Signs on IL157 at St. Clair Ave show TO IL161 signs rather than plain IL161 signs, even at the ends of the ramps, as shown. Also, on St. Clair Ave, there is junction signage, rather than just signs notifying a turn ahead. There are no signs on IL161 itself south of St. Clair Ave, so no help provided there. But I think the above things are enough to say that it ends at St. Clair, just shy of IL157.
