MD MD355 in Frederick is signposted at least as far north as the intersection with Wormans Mill Road:

Verified this while driving this way on Saturday afternoon.

HWB, on the other hand, shows its northern terminus at US-40/I-70

The 2012 MD SHA inventory for Frederick County appears to concur with HWB.

So, should we go by SHA documents or by posted signs?

I've noticed this multiple times in the past two months, myself. The tricky thing with decommissioned pieces of routes is that often nobody is willing to spend money to take down signs after the decommissioning. That appears to be the case here.
