Took a road trip around Delaware on Saturday:
DE16 extends east of DE1 to Broadkill Beach. Here is reassurance leaving DE1

There may be a DE30Alt. NB DE30 approaching Johnson Rd has a JCT ALT 30 shield assembly. Johnson Rd connects over to DE1 near DE30's north end. GMSV doesn't show it well enough to identify the posting and I saw no other 30 Alt shields. I did take a picture but don't know if it turned out yet or not.

DelDOT still hadn't made up their mind whether DE 16 goes east of DE 1 or not when I last looked at this in person in April, and I still don't see anything new on their site. The signs at DE 1 and lack of signs elsewhere disagree with each other, and relevant documents on their web site disagree.
I had opted to leave DE 16 as-is here until the end becomes clearer. Either their maps and shapefiles ought to agree, or either the DE16 sign just east of DE 1 should match a westbound sign at Broadkill by both or neither existing.
DE 30 Alt is or was that connection between DE 30 and DE 1. I thought it was supposed to vanish as part of the DE 1 & DE 30 interchange project, but I'm not caught up on the status of that project yet. Possibly DE 30 Alt should be added. I'll look into this more soon. |

For DE 30 Alt, I found 2004 pictures on AARoads and taken by Adam Froehlig showing DE 30 Alt signs. But 2008 GMSV shows the same scenes without those signs.
The 2011 DelDOT traffic counts do not mention DE 30 Alt.
It's possible that this route was decommissioned. |

A complicating factor with ALT DE 30 is the road it was previously signed on no longer has a full intersection at DE 1...only a right-in/right-out. Unless DelDOT internal documents or GIS show otherwise, I'm inclined to say it no longer exists. _________________ Froggie
