The Veterans Memorial Bridge has opened, carrying US6 & MA138 over the Taunton River.

I suggest:

US6:
Replace:

MA103/138 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.725334&lon=-71.157460
with:
*Old6 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.728993&lon=-71.164616
BraAve http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.728500&lon=-71.160738
MA103/138 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.727884&lon=-71.155974
MA79 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.725546&lon=-71.149473
And relabel existing:
MA79 -> BriSt

MA138:
Replace:

US6/103 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.725334&lon=-71.157460
with:
US6/103 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.727884&lon=-71.155974
MA79 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.725546&lon=-71.149473
And relabel existing:
MA79 -> BriSt

MA79:
US6 -> BriSt, followed by new point
US6 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.725546&lon=-71.149473

MA103:
existing US6/138: rename to, uhh... something. (BriSt?)
Followed by a new END! at
US6/138 http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.725334&lon=-71.157460

Nota Bene:
• This all assumes MA103 will be extended north along old US6/138 to meet new US6/138. Sounds reasonable, right?
• I didn't pay any attention to point coords, and how to adjust them to avoid a false multiplex of US6/MA138 and MA79, along the ramps and frontage roads. I'll leave this bit up to you.
• US6's suggested *Old6 point, well... May or may not be a BriSt_W or what-have-you. I've read it will become a one-lane slip road, connecting to a local street or two... as such maybe it oughtta be considered a part of the BraAve jct, and folded into that?
OTOH, Tim still suggested I retain the old points for US2 & ME113 when US2 was rerouted, even though they were very close to the newly added points. Eh!

Some questions...

The new bridge gives MA 138 no reason to be on the frontage road surrounding MA 79, so is it now concurrent with MA 79?

Was MA 103 extended to the new US 6/MA 138 as expected?

Tracking down this very old issue. Everything seems straightforward and as Eric suggested except the possible issue of 138 remaining on frontage roads instead of being concurrent with 79. MassDOT's online route logs are still from 2005, it seems. GMSV appears to be very recent, but we can only see the southbound side of 79 where I want to be able to see northbound. I am inclined to believe that 138 is still on frontage roads. I wonder if the situation is complicated by the apparent lack of a direct ramp from 79 South to US 6 East on the new bridge. Any thoughts? Wish I remembered this thread a month ago - I was in the area.

Don't know if you meant to say US6 west, but in either case, looking at the aerials, it looks like all the ramps are there.

Sure enough, you're right.

I'm inclined not to let the ambiguity about the separation or not of the routings for 79 and 138 stop the update that will fix US 6's routing.

Looking at Google satellite imagery, I can see that northbound 138 (and westbound US6) need to use the frontage road. The offramp to the new bridge leaves from the frontage road, which is separated from the mainline by a Jersey barrier. Access is via the slip ramp that splits off above President Ave.
So I'll call this as 138 not being concurrent with 79.

Checking out GMSV, this looks like a Yes.

I'll get working on this update.

Changes made (so far):

US6:

*OldUS6 added
MA103/138 & MA79 relocated
existing MA79 -> BriSt

MA24:
6 & 7 repositioned
8 +-> 8A
8B added
I-93 +-> 21

MA79:
existing US6 -> *BriSt
new US6 added
MA24(7) repositioned
MA24(8) +-> MA24(8A)
MA24(8B) added
+X01 replaced with MalRd

MA103:
existing US6/138 -> GraArmyHwy
new US6/138 endpoint added

MA123:
CenSt_W added
MA138_S moved to Depot St
existing MA138_S -> CenSt_E

MA138:
MA79 -> BriSt
new MA79 added
US6/103 relocated
CenSt -> CenSt_Dig
+X01 replaced with RaiAve
+X02 replaced with WasSt
CentSt -> CenSt_Ray
MA123_W moved to Depot St
existing MA123_W -> CenSt_Eas
CenSt_Sto added

Multiplexes:
Between President Ave & Brightman St:

Both directions of US6 use frontage roads.
Both directions of MA79 use main lanes.
MA138 SB uses main lane; NB uses frontage road.
None of these routes are concurrent here.

Between Brightman St & Veterans Memorial Bridge:
US6 & MA138 both use frontage roads.
MA79 uses main lanes.
US6 & MA138 multiplex; MA79 is concurrent with neither.

Point coords to avoid false positives:
MA138 US6_E slid .000001 east vice US6 MA138_S. Breaks US6/MA138 false positive south of Brightman.
MA79 *BriSt slid .000001 east vice US6 BriSt & MA138 BriSt. Breaks US6/MA79 & MA79/MA138 false positives north of Brightman, and retains US6/MA136 true positive.

When I get this pull request in, I will submit some temporary .list files as a test to make sure this all works as I think it will.

Other edits elsewhere to be submitted as part of the same update:

MA18:
TarHillRd, BraRd, CouRd, HemShoRd added
