I've been meaning to post this for a while, but I wanted to drive through all angles of the interchanges to make sure I had the facts correctly as they stand on the ground. I see this interchange at least once every month, so I've gotten to be familiar with it.

The access to the Ambassador Bridge and the Mexicantown neighborhood has been redone with the Gateway Project. It is 95% complete, currently with all but two ramps open; these two may not be for some time as the litigation between MDOT and the Ambassador Bridge is not fully settled and construction can resume, but they are drivable to the bridge and were open for a short span of time, if my understanding was correct. As a result, temporary wooden tabs are being used to haphazardly "renumber" two other ramps, which I'll address below.

I'll also direct to the updated 2011 state map for further, albeit partial, assistance: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/MDOT_statemap2005_Detroit_7_126122_7.pdf

Here are the exits as they currently stand:

Interstate 75
Exit 47A: Clark Street
Exit 47B: Ambassador Bridge (temporarily closed)
Exit 47C: Vernor Highway
Exit 48: Interstate 96
Exit 49/49A-B: Rosa Parks Blvd/M-10

Interstate 96
Exit 190B: Warren Ave
Exit 191 [EB]: MLK Blvd/US12
Exit: I-75 North/M-10 (EB only, unnumbered)
Exit 191 [WB]: US 12
Exit 192A: Vernor Highway (EB only)
Exit 192B: Ambassador Bridge (EB only, temporarily closed)
Terminus with I-75 just south of exit 192B.

Part of the issue here is that the southermost part of the I-75/I-96 interchange lies between Exits 47A and 47C on I-75, creating a longer I-96 than what is in the HB, not to mention the missing exits. Some of the guide signs for 192B and 47B have the wooden tabs covering the exit numbers and temporarily renumbering them 47A or 47C as a way of reorienting drivers around the construction-based closure of 47B and 192B. That said, not all signs do have these temporary tabs, so the actual numbers are still visible in spots. Unfortunately, GMSV is no help, that's why I double-checked everything in person.

Thank you very much.

Is this thread settled or is some action pending?

This round of updates was completed. I just doubled checked the HB, and it appears to be all set.

Thanks.
